The exhibition Belonging to Limerick will present the universal language of art

“Belonging” is a major exhibition presenting 82 works by European artists, from the 27 countries of the EU, on loan from the art collection of the European Investment Bank (EIB).

These contemporary pieces will be on display in eight locations in Limerick City, from February 10 to April 24, 2022.

Membership is linked to the European Exhibition, a series of exhibitions, seminars, events and celebrations during 2022 that communicate national and European culture and cooperation.

The theme plays on Limerick’s new brand image: Atlantic Edge, European Embrace. The City is an integral part of Europe, even if located on the Atlantic coast, it embraces and wants to strengthen the value of belonging to the EU. The exhibition will offer a very important European profile to Limerick which will be inaugurated by Werner Hoyer, President of the EIB on 10 February.

The exhibition is co-organized by Delphine Munro from the EIB and the Hunt Museum with contributions from partner sites. This is a wonderful opportunity for the Hunt Museum and the people of Limerick as it is the first time that the exhibition has been presented in Ireland and outside a capital.
