A delegation from the United States Congress visits the “Torathna” exhibition for crafts and heritage

The Executive Director of the Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises Development Agency (MSMEDA), Nevine Gamea, met with a high-ranking delegation consisting of members of the United States Congress from the Democratic and Republican parties during their visit to the fourth edition of the Torathna Exhibition for Crafts and Heritage 2022.
MSMEDA organized the exhibition under the auspices of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah Al-Sisi at the Egyptian International Exhibition Center from October 9 to 15, 2022. Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly inaugurated the exhibition.
Gamea expressed his appreciation for this visit which reflects the interest of the different international entities to familiarize themselves with the economic progress recorded by Egypt in many sectors, including the small business sector, with particular emphasis on handicrafts. Egypt because of its potential to generate thousands of sustainable and decent jobs for young people. and accelerate growth rates. Gamea added that the small handicraft sector has promising capabilities to create highly competitive products in foreign markets.
“MSMEDA supports the small business sector and provides technical services that build the capacities of young people and improve their entrepreneurial skills to cope with rapidly changing markets,” explained the Executive Director of MSMEDA.
At the end of the visit, Gamea praised the confidence of the international community, donor agencies and financial institutions in the Egyptian economy. This trust, she added, has translated into international funds provided by these agencies for the activities currently being implemented and the success of these activities in creating tens of thousands of employment opportunities for the Egyptian people.
Gamea stressed the importance of this visit made by the American delegation to the Egyptian Handicrafts Exhibition being the largest regional gathering of artists and artisans. She reiterated that this visit gives impetus to entrepreneurs to improve their products and make them competitive in global markets.
The US delegation is currently visiting Egypt to learn about the main thrusts of the overall development process that Egypt is witnessing, particularly with regard to the micro and small business sector and the promotion of bilateral cooperation and partnership. strategic between Egypt and the United States.
The delegation visited the various booths of the exhibition and admired the products that embody the unique Egyptian arts and culture.
