ARTS AND CULTURE: Cream of the Crop is looking for works for an exhibition – La Tribune

PORTSOUTH — The Southern Ohio Museum and Cultural Center is hosting the 2022 Cream of the Crop exhibit this summer.

This juried exhibition is open to artists aged 18 and over residing within 85 miles of Portsmouth.

Artists and creators must deliver their artwork to the museum, during opening hours, anytime from July 26 to August 5. The fee is $25 for up to three pieces. All supports are accepted, works must be ready to hang or installed and must be for sale.

The opening reception will take place at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, August 27 and is open to the public.

The museum is offering a special purchase offer to patrons – those who commit to buying artwork before the opening and can come and see all the artwork before the exhibition opens to the public.

Prizes include $1,000 for first place, $750 for second place, $500 for third place, the Jury’s Choice Award of $200, six honorable mentions of $50 each, and the Boneyfiddle Art Prize from $500, which is a donation from the former Cooperative Boneyfiddle Arts Center. Visitors also choose a public prize awarded at the end of the exhibition.
