Hudson County Community College Foundation’s 25th Annual Fundraising Gala Celebrates “Investing in Student Success”

The Hudson County Community College (HCCC) Foundation Board invites the community to join in celebrating the Silver Anniversary of their annual fundraising gala.

The December 8, 2022 event will take place at the College Culinary Conference Center, 161 Newkirk Street in Jersey City, NJ, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Guests will tour the award-winning kitchens of the HCCC Culinary Arts Institute (CAI), enjoy the world class cuisine prepared and presented by HCCC CAI students, alumni and chef-instructors, and discover a sampling of more than 2,000 original works from the HCCC Foundation’s art collection.

The theme of the event, “Investing in Student Success”, highlights the HCCC Foundation’s commitment to helping students achieve academic success by developing and awarding need-based scholarships and merit, providing start-up funds for faculty programs and supporting the physical and cultural growth of the College. enrichment of Hudson County residents. Since its inception, the Foundation has raised over $4.2 million in scholarships.

At this year’s gala, the HCCC Foundation will recognize the Ellucian Foundation’s endowment investment in the College’s innovative and award-winning “Hudson Scholars” program, and the awarding of $25,000 in Ellucian Path scholarships to HCCC students. Laura Ipsen, President and CEO of Ellucian, will accept this honor.

In addition to savoring delicious cuisine prepared and served by HCCC culinary arts students and chef-instructors, gala guests will be treated to dishes specially prepared and served by former HCCC cooks in the “Alumni Room” . Cocktails will be served at the HCCC Seafood Bar and Lounge, which will feature chef Kevin O’Malley’s spectacular ice sculptures.

Attendees will choose from an array of scrumptious desserts, including an experience in the Paul Dillon Ice Cream Parlor, a tribute to the late beloved chef, mentor and associate dean of CAI. Dean Dillon has served HCCC with distinction for over 37 years. Desserts and the program will take place in the elegant Sansone Dining Room.

You can enjoy a selection of works from the famous art collection of the HCCC Foundation in a special gallery on the third floor. The collection includes paintings, sculptures, photographs, drawings, limited edition prints, ephemera and more by some of the country’s most distinguished and well-known artists. Uniquely, the HCCC Foundation’s art collection is displayed in every College building, serving as a “living museum” and inspiration for students, faculty, staff and visitors. The collection has been cited as a model for other colleges and universities in New Jersey and the United States.

Established in 1997, the Hudson County Community College Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation offering tax-exempt status to contributors.
