Little France Festival in Athens

The Athens Art Network Petit Paris festival in Athens is in full swing after a two-year hiatus due to Covid restrictions. It includes 10 days of cultural events throughout the Greek capital, infusing Athens with a Parisian buzz.

The program introduces Rebetiko to Franco-Levantine music and various theatrical, dance and musical performances. There will also be street art events, free live performances, visual art exhibitions, lectures, forums and a range of educational programs for children.

Along with this, the now established Jazz n World music festival will also be held as part of the overall program. The festival mimics the cosmopolitan character of Smyrna in 1922.

There will be over 500 artists, scholars and creatives involved. The festival will present works in various public places and public spaces, from Omonia Square to Larissa and Metaxourgio station. In these areas, many roads are named after French scholars and have been meeting points for the Athenian cultural scene, the urban folk scene, large waves of immigrants, travelers and tourists.

The festival will also use venues such as the National Conservatory, the Aggelon Vima Theatre, the music stage of Lux (former Acrovatis), bar-restaurants like Beeraki and Typografos,

More than 51 Athens public schools will participate in the festival.

The contribution of festivals to commercial and tourism potential has been recognized by all public and private parties involved. For more information visit: mikroparisi.eu
