The Cambodian Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports, representing the ASEAN Socio-Cultural Community (ASCC) this year, will host three key virtual meetings from March 28-30.

The ministry said two of the meetings will be chaired by Dy Camboly, who is chairing the Senior Socio-Cultural Community of ASEAN (SOCA) Committee of Senior Officials this year.

The first to be organized is the 5th ASEAN Working Group Meeting on the Culture of Prevention (CoP) Declaration for a Peaceful, Inclusive, Resilient, Healthy and Harmonious Society – which will be held on March 28.

The second is the 32nd meeting of SOCA, which will take place on March 29.

The third meeting will be led by Education Minister Hang Chuon Naron on March 30. Chuon Naron, who chairs the CCSA Council this year, will chair the 27th meeting of the CCSA Council.

“These three meetings will review progress made since the 31st SOCA meeting, the 26th meeting of the CCSA Council and other relevant meetings,” the ministry said.

Chuon Naron will brief the ASCC Council meeting on the achievements and outcomes and also introduce a side event to be held under the theme “ASEAN acting together to solve common challenges”.

The ministry said the meetings will also exchange ideas on implementation strategies for resolutions ASEAN leaders and partners have made and detail SOCA and cross-pillar plans. The meeting will strengthen relations between member states and ASEAN partners and safeguard and promote centrality, unity and solidarity towards building the ASEAN community.
