Spectacular water shows to entertain World Cup fans

A visual delight awaits spectators on the Corniche in Doha during the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022.
Throughout the mega event, from Nov. 20 to Dec. 18, a special water show with the “greatest special effects” will captivate Corniche audiences, according to the Supreme Committee for Delivery and Legacy (SC).
The SC said in a tweet that there will be six shows a day during the World Cup, at 3pm, 3.30pm, 4pm, 4.30pm, 5pm and 5.30pm, in addition to a big daily evening show at 9pm.
The Corniche will host the Qatar World Street Carnival during the World Cup. Along with the daily water shows, there will be stellar performances, concerts, arts, culture and storytelling. “The carnival atmosphere along the Corniche will celebrate nations around the world,” said the SC.
There will be over 150 food outlets and four live stages, providing entertainment for families and children, including daily water and light shows.
Stretching from the Museum of Islamic Art to the Park Hotel (Sheraton), the Corniche festivities will take place from 10am to midnight.
As recently reported in the Gulf Times, preparations are in full swing at the Corniche, Souq Waqif and Al Bidda Park where artistic performances, concerts and live football screenings will take place during the FIFA World Cup, Qatar 2022.
The Doha Corniche is expected to host more than 120,000 fans daily while offering various celebrations and live match broadcasts during the tournament. There will be musical and cultural performances starting at 10 a.m. while visitors can enjoy boating and heritage walks to explore Doha.
Visitors and fans can reach Souq Waqif, Al Bidda Park and the Corniche using Souq Waqif, Corniche, West Bay and Al Bidda Park metro stations.
Fans will be spoiled for choice in Qatar during the World Cup when not watching matches in one of the state-of-the-art stadiums. These include Corniche Festivities, FIFA Fan Festival at Al Bidda Park, Lusail Boulevard, 974 Beach Club, Arcadia Spectacular, MDL Beast Presents – ARAVIA, Al Maha Island – Lusail, D’reesha Performing Arts Festival, Festival in Motion, Qatar Fashion United by CR Runway, Souq Waqif, Katara – the cultural village, Dhow Boat Tours and more.
