The £ 1million Arts and Culture Fund is open for applications
Our new £ 1million fund set up to support Essex’s arts and culture sector opened for applications today (Tuesday 4 January). The Essex County Council Arts and Cultural Fund will provide grants of £ 2,500 to £ 30,000 to artists and cultural organizations to carry out projects.
It will support projects in all creative sectors and is open to individual artists, cooperatives, community groups, charities, community interest businesses, social enterprises, private and public organizations.
Since the fund was announced, more than 100 artists and cultural organizations have expressed their interest. Requests can now be made on the Explore Essex website.
Graham Butland, Essex County Council Cabinet Member for Devolution, Arts Heritage and Culture, said: “We have been overwhelmed by the response from the arts and culture community since we first announced the launch of this new fund, as evidenced by the number of expressions of interest we have received.
“The Arts and Culture Fund is open to everyone and will support the diverse and vibrant communities we have in the county, from grassroots community groups to large organizations. I encourage all eligible to apply as a thriving creative sector that is part of a strong economy and that will rejuvenate our main streets. “
Applications can be submitted until Monday, February 28, and successful grant applications will be announced at the end of March.
