In our production, Tropicalfete will address the violence in our community that needs to be addressed END! Art and culture are the cures! As we say, “Tropicalfete uses culture as a tool for social transformation”.

Tropicalfete’s 2022 Excellence Prize will be awarded to ETIENNE CHARLES: (trumpet, percussion, composer) Born in Trinidad, Etienne Charles is a performer, composer and storyteller who is continually in search of untold stories and sounds with which to tell about. His lush trumpet sound, varied compositional textures and pulsing percussive grooves allow him to invoke trance, soothe and excite listeners while referencing sensitive and sometimes controversial topics in his music. known as the composer of San Juan Hill: A New York Story).

The Tropicalfete Award of Excellence honors the achievements and contributions of individuals and/or organizations who have played a role in the development of the Caribbean Community. The achievement of the winners is significant at the international level, where their work has had a positive impact on the Caribbean community in the areas of culture, social life, sports and the economy.
