The Minister of Culture inaugurates an exhibition of the artist Ahmed Al Maadeed

Doha: Culture Minister HE Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday inaugurated a “Hadaf” exhibition by artist Ahmed Al Maadeed at the AM Gallery in the Place Vendôme shopping center.

The exhibition, held ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, will run until January 15, 2023.

The opening ceremony took place in the presence of a group of artists, intellectuals and media professionals. The exhibition presents different works of art on the World Cup and is divided into two sections: one cultural and the other sporting.

The cultural section celebrates some Qatari heritage vocabulary and Qatari dress, such as Al Bakhnaq, Al Ghutra and Al Aqal, as well as some animals from the Qatari environment, such as the Oryx.

The sports section is dedicated to showcasing famous footballers and other paintings in this regard. The circle, which is usually in the middle of the football field, was drawn in the center of the exhibition hall.

In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA), artist Ahmed Al Maadeed said the exhibition, which includes more than 45 works of art, simulates Qatari sports and culture, which welcomes visitors of this World Cup. He noted that holding the exhibition at this particular time creates an atmosphere of fun and passion for all visitors to achieve the goal of enjoying the World Cup matches.

If the goal of competing players and teams is to score goals, then Al Maadeed has set his sights on a goal by educating local and global audiences on what our country is rich with in a rich civilizational heritage and a culture with deep roots. in the story which is ‘art’.

The exhibition will be accompanied by the organization of artistic and cultural activities during the World Cup, within the services and objectives provided by IM Gallery, inaugurated a few weeks ago.
