Vince Gill cancels three shows after wife Amy Grant is hospitalized

Grant was injured after a bicycle accident

Vince Gill has canceled three shows for this weekend after his wife and contemporary Christmas singer Amy Grant was hospitalized following a cycling accident. Gill canceled performances on Thursday July 28 in Charlotte, North Carolina and both shows in Tysons, Virginia on Friday July 29 and Saturday July 30. Gill has yet to publicly comment on the matter, but his rep confirms that the shows are canceled and will not be rescheduled.

Ticket holders will be reimbursed at the point of purchase.

Grant was hospitalized after falling off a bike in Nashville on Wednesday July 27. She was taken by ambulance to Vanderbilt Medical Center where she was treated for cuts and abrasions. Grant was wearing a helmet and suffered no serious injuries, but was listed in stable condition and admitted for observation as a precaution.

“Thank you to everyone offering prayers and wishes for Amy after her biking accident yesterday,” reads social media. “She is in hospital receiving treatment but in stable condition. She is expected to return home later this week where she will continue to heal. Your kind thoughts and heartfelt prayers are felt and received. Amy wore her helmet and we remind you all to do the same!

Grant is one of five celebrities to receive the Kennedy Center Honors in December in Washington, DC. Throughout its 44-year history, the annual honors gala has become the highlight of Washington’s cultural and societal calendar, and its national broadcast on CBS is a television season highlight. Gladys Knight and U2 are among the other musicians honored in 2022.
